Forensic Legal Nurse Consultants, Inc. is a firm
comprised of registered nurses who use specialized healthcare knowledge and
expertise to consult on medical-related cases where health, illness or
injury is an issue, ranging from denial of care to medical malpractice
cases.
Certified Legal Nurse Consultants apply their
knowledge of medical, nursing and legal experience to make an attorney’s job
easier. Our professional inside knowledge of the inner workings of medical
facilities and standards of practice qualifies us to review and interpret
relevant medical records, prepare chronologies, screen medical-related
cases, assist with discovery and decipher the terminology to help attorneys
achieve the best result for their clients.
Dawn Rice, BSN, RN, SANE-A, CLNC

Ms. Rice is a Certified Legal Nurse
Consultant (CLNC) and President of Forensic Legal Nurse Consultants, Inc.
In her role as a legal nurse consultant, she works with attorneys on cases
involving medical aspects such as homicide, sexual and physical abuse, DUI,
and more in the criminal courts. In civil actions, Ms. Rice assists
plaintiff and defense attorneys on cases involving medical malpractice,
products liability, toxic torts, general personal injury, and workman’s
compensation. In addition to this work, Ms. Rice is also actively
practicing as an Emergency Room nurse at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Ms. Rice is a member of the
International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN), as well as the founding
and immediate past president of the Indiana Chapter of the IAFN. She served
as the founding secretary of the Child Advocacy Center Board of Directors.
She is a member of the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse
Consultants, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and the Emergency
Nurses Association.
